DG Cinema Presents: Nobody Can Predict the Moment of Revolution

DG Cinema is proud to present Iva Rad and Martyna Starosta's short documentary on the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Filmmakers Iva Rad and Martyna Starosta document and interview some of the occupants who have made Wall Street USA their home as part of the progressive Occupy Wall Street Movement.  Occupy Wall Street is a leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions, bound by the common agreement that they will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1% who attempt to grossly marginalize the 99%.   Using the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic the movement strives to achieve their ends and encourage the use of nonviolence to maximize the safety of all participants  This past Saturday over 700 protestors were arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge as the movement spread.

DG Cinema Presents: Delays Expected

'Delays Expected' is a film by Sam Cook, which was entered into the Virgin Media shorts competition.

Our latest DG Cinema short is even shorter than usual. 'Delays Expected' was shot to be entered into the Virgin Media shorts competition, meaning the running time had to be 140 seconds or less. Such a short running time forces a director to be creative and punchy, so we think by challenging audience prejudices and even including a twist, director Sam Cook has done a sterling job.

DG Cinema Presents: Bird Talk

US filmmakers Richard Griffin and Jennifer Scharf pass along their seriocomical short film Bird Talk.

BIRD TALK is a short dark comedy set in the life of a failed real estate agent (Rich Tretheway) turned self-proclaimed bird expert and radio personality under the call name "Twitcher".  Despite delusions of grandeur, his show's callers want more advice than avians, and the results are seriocomical.  With it's tag-line, "RUINING LIVES, ONE CALLER AT A TIME," Bird Talk is a fun and tragic look at identity issues as told from the perspective of small town America.  Bird Talk was the Audience Award winner for Best Regional Short Film at the 2011 SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival.

DG Cinema Presents: Bale

British filmmaker Alastair Mackay has passed along his beautifully haunting short film Bale.

Bale is the dark and wonderfully shot story of 3 young boys, 4 teenagers, and the British countryside. Bale traces a desertion, a misunderstanding, and the sparking of a chain of events that leads uncontrollably to a terrifying outcome.  The stunning visuals cast a glow that stirs the sentiments of childhood, teenage rebellion  and abandonment in a way that is both unique and aesthetically serene.
